Nintendo Ad interrupting conversation !

While I'm on a call I get "Congratulations, you have won a Nintendo. Just click on" and then the message ends right there for a few minutes and then repeats again. This just started happening today. Has anyone else experienced this nuisance ? Have spammers figured out a way to hack into MJ calls ??

Have you scanned your computer for spyware? It sounds like something else is running in the background (like a website popup) and its playing through the Magicjack.

This is a problem with your computer or something unrelated to magicjack.
Mine has NEVER done anything like that, and neither has any of my friends.

have you clicked on the ad to see where it brings you?

I'm just curious if you actually won anything, or just some gimic like so many of those are.

sad if it's a gimic, it means the ads will be popping up garbage in the near future, from unsavory advertizers.

by the way, I agree with the others it's something related to your own computer.

you can check your windows task manager to see if the CPU usage column has any large numbers from any other than the normal System Idle Process showing near 98% or so. (WinXP)

check the processes tab and watch for a while in case it's not always showing immediately, or jumping up then down in usage, in any of the other tasks.

(Ctrl-Alt-Del keys pressed at the same time brings you to the Task Manager)

I've sometimes had IE6 seem to get stuck in a Java task and show near 100%
and it would cause a sputter in the data display or flow of the MJ or even other tasks.
I'd have to end the task and re-open again to the web site.

it sometimes also happened surfing this site
now i keep my firewall blocking all except what i need to see, at each separate site i visit.
