Slow desktop performance

Post by Brian »

I recently started using Majicjack, and was satisfied with the performance. Recently, however, the phone has started having poor performance, and my desktop computer has slowed down dramatically when the device is plugged into the USB port. Remove the device, an the computer acts fine. I have more than enough memory in the system (121 GB available).

Odd also is that Magicjack has installed itself onto two drives (E and F). Initially, it was only showing up on an E drive.

Is there something I should do? Is this normal?

didn't you install it originally on your "C" drive?
what is showing in the other drive that says it's magicjack related?

the slow-down could be the computers buffer getting full. ... I'm wondering if there's a buffer clearing program utility thingie to keep it controlled.

I've noticed after long periods of time with the MJ connected, my internet would start to get slugish to respond, while it would load the web pages, it would hesitate and spirt the flow of data .. kind of makes me think the MJ is porting the data to another location... while I'm surfing.

Magicjack does create 2 "drives", maybe you looked just before MJ got around to creating the second drive.

I can't help you much on the performance issue, as I run mine as the only application on a thin client. It seems really weird that it would be doing something to drag your performance down so dramatically.

MJ in use use to peg my CPU. Then after a fresh OS install - no problems; and my CPU just loafs along.
