Overseas

Post by hector »

I am only a few hours into this and so far all looks good , I have probably the dumbest question you will read but here goes. I understand I can take MJ with me overseas and call the states for free, BUT... Will my family in the area code that I chose be able to call me from the regular land line to my MJ for free while I am overseas ,,or from another area code as well ?

We have a jack hooked up in india and it works really well. About my dad has 3 brothers in America and 2 sisters in india, so we call India a lot. This saves use people in American and in India a bunch of money.

Would like to make too Europe and give you some feedback but I am not lucky or wealthy enough to go to Europe. I am going to the Caribbean. Rather I am now in The Caribean HOWEVER my family at home in Miami has to dial the number 1 and the area code as if its a long distance call, is this the norm ? Please help....

@ Hector

I think it would be considered normal to dial "1". MagicJack does not know where you are located geographically. Calls are treated as US exchange calls.

Think of it as international callback, if you are familiar with that...sort of like being off the local grid.
