Which device?

Post by techno-pagan »

I'm thinking of getting a VOIP device to replace the MJ USB for my mother - she only makes outgoing calls a few times per month and it would greatly simplify things for her (and thereby for ME!) if she didn't need to plug/unplug the MJ when she needed to make a call.

I was looking for "unlocked" SIP/VOIP devices on ebay and came across a few - any suggestions on what is the best route to go?

1) Linksys WRTP54G Wireless G Router w/UNLOCKED SIP VOIP

2) LINKSYS SIP VOIP PHONE ADAPTOR PAP2-NA STAY UNLOCKED

3) NEW UNLOCKED Linksys PAP2 VoIP Adapter 2 phone ports

4) New Unlocked Linksys SPA Sipura 1001 VOIP Phone Adapter

Or should I be looking for something different?

Thank you,

I am thinking the router you can buy from T-Mobile for the Hotspot@home service would work. Not sure if you can just buy the device without a service plan, but it's worth a phone call.

Do a search on WiFi router for Hotspot@home on the T-Mobile website...and let us know if it will work. Heck I might even search for it.
