Call Forwarding

I apologize if this has been asked but I did try using the search button and did not come up with an answer. I was thinking about buying the magic jack to get the number and call forwarding feature.

I would like to have friends and family call my magicjack number and have it automatically call my cell phone. Can this be done and if your not going to use it to make outgoing calls do you even have to hook it up to your computer? I basically want to use it as a cheap alternative to a call forwarding service.

For free you can try and reserve a number at grand central

Otherwise yes, magicJack can be set up for forwarding without using magicjack in the control panel at my.magicjack.com

What laserjobs just said is that you do not need to have it (MJ) hooked up to your computer to use the call forwqarding feature.

Great! That is what I thought but wanted to confirm it would work. I have already signed up for Grandcentral but knowing how slow Google is, it'll probably be another 6 months before I get an account.
