How to create your own voip server?
Has anyone here tried to create their own voip server? I am really interested in what is needed for this to work. I would assume a very fast trunked t3 or higher connection. What would be required to get say a city of 100,000 with fast cable connections. Maybe I am just dreaming!

If so, your service will be worse than MagicJack sometimes is now.
Depending on the systems you get, and the Processor speeds, LAN cards, and of course the speed of the Internet service, you could need a room full of computers to supply phone service to 100,000 people.
Not to mention, having several extra computers if some of the working ones go down, (stop working), to replace them.
You don't want to start a service that'll be worse than MagicJack supplies now.
... although, MJ has been decent so far for me, but I don't have it on all the time, so I can't really say for sure if it's bad or good for steady service.SSSooooo, you want to be a telephone service supplier?
