Fax machine use with magicJack
Has anyone got the magicjack to work with a fax machine. There on simple instructions on the magicjack site that you can try and see if your fax machine will work. One of them is to turn error correction off. I've found a few fax models that have that capability but really didn't want to buy it if it wont work. I "do" understand that they don't advertise that a fax mahine will work, but I'm assuming that sometimes it will.

Paging
Fax seems to work fine, but cannot get it to work for Alpha Pagers using Inforad paging program and paging companies 800 access numbers. Even tried slowing down the DTMF and paging baud rate. So far only one of the many companies work.. It connects and then tries to communicate with the paging terminal and then disconnects.. Trying to use MJ through a dial up modem for when long distance / local services goes out due to a fiber cut and I need to use MJ thru the Internet to page emergency workers. Any ideas?
Thanks everyone. I emailed support for Canon Fax machines and got a couple of models that have the ability to turn error correction off. From what I understsnd, that's the key to getting most machines to work. I'm going to purchase one locally and keep trying different models until one works for me. Also I'm using MJ on Mac and that may cause more cxonflicts. MJ works fine on my Mac. Clear as a bell.

I sent a fax from laptop yesterday, here in China back to the US. 9600 baud worked, 14400 did not.insanitor wrote:I wonder if anyone knows the fastest rx and tx baud rate speed setting that would work the best???
