delivery time

Post by VOLCAN12 »

hi everyone,

i made a mistake and ordered 5 units, at once, to send to family and friends overseas, and some for my friends at work who liked the idea.

i paid through paypal, order was confirmed, by the sales person on the chat who i guess is the only one there.

it's been 10 days now ( as per their statement that they will ship same day ) they are in Florida, I'm in Georgia, usually mail takes about 2-3 days what ever service the use with USPS services.

any one had a delayed delivery, or this is normal.

now i contacted their sales department via e-mail, but no one responded. any one know the contacts for them??? or any one that can help in that company, and what sucks is they have no contact listed on their site, except for that sales chat thing, which refers you to the e-mail, which never answered me or even responded.

anyone know anything about the above matters please help, cause really i started to have seconded thoughts about their reliability, if that how it is before i use it, what would it be with the customer service -or I may say customer NO service- if a problem occurred???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

regards to all

I agree that Richie is the best MJ contact, unless, of course, you want to email Dan Borislow.

I got mine in 2 days and ordered just before Christmas, so that does not sound right. These guys get plenty
of slams on blog comments and reviews, so they don't need any more bad rep.

Could be the fact that you paid via PayPal.

just got them today, in the new packing, which sucks, cause i have 3 for me to be shipped overseas, and 2 for other friends at work, and they are packed 2+2+1

so i have to take one with no packaging, or give one to my friend with no packaging.

i didn't know the save that much if they packed them like that, shouldn't they be packed individually?

any way the main thing is i got them. let's put them to the test.

I'll be too picky about the usage and the quality.

and thank you guys for the help and the efforts.

well, you should have seen it after you registered, there is a line in red, stating that they are going to send you an e-mail and you must follow a link to as a confirmation that your e-mail is valid.
& thanks kumar , if you never got them, so no worries, just didn't want to send them overseas, and not be able to use them.

I am sure it is part of the ever-developing Registration process that they will hone over time.

For example, I know they will have to develop some way of figuring out who purchased the 2nd yr (and how to administer it) -- something tells me that was not in place when folks may have purchased it in 2007.

Probably, just part of getting more sophisticated with the service and how to control/monitor/maintain it.

OK, here are some good new

one of my colleagues at work sent the unit to her family in Europe, she said as per today, she had that unit paid for already and that was in less than a week.

but she also mentioned that in some of the calls she got echo, and the other end wasn't able to hear good, but overall it's 90% satisfaction.

mine hasn't reach yet due to mail speed, but i hope I'll have the same or more satisfaction %.

Post by stealthnv »

Just got an e-mail today that says they fulfilled my order. That's 25 days since I placed the order, and I paid with Pay Pal. Seems like an excessive amount of time for them to delay shipping. After all, they were paid instantly. You think I would have at least received an e-mail stating there would be a wait for my order to be shipped. So I guess I'll get it in about 10 more working days. Pretty poor service so far. I wonder if my 30 day trial is over now?

I'm wondering if these sporatic delays are due to fulfillment problems with their manufacturer? The 30 day return gurantee, if I remember correctly starts on the day you register the MJ.

I confirmed with Tech Chat some time ago that the 30 day trial starts from the date of registration. However, this crew can change the game at any time. Just read the TOS. MJ holds all the cards, and can do anything they please.

I have watched the company for some time as I am involved in communications for a living. Even though things have not always been smooth, I haven't seen them change anything substantial midstream. It would be a terrible business decision for them to make changes at this point. Any TOS written by a companys attorneys will always give themselves everything...whether or not it would stand up in court is another thing. If I owned a company I would want my attorneys to protect my interests completly, screw the other guy, if he agrees to my TOS and takes my product I sincerly hope that the customer will not now have the ability to take me to court and potentially ruin my business.

OK, I edited my comment to reflect the facts. MJ can do anything they want...any time they want. They can even discontinue the service without notice or change the terms of service at any time with no consequence. However, I doubt anyone is going to sue them for something that costs only 40 bucks.

The lawsuit won't be based upon how much the item initially cost, it is your real or percieved loss. Remember the McDonalds hot coffee escapade...they sued over a product that cost about $.50, and won millions even though McDonalds had no control over what she did with the cup of coffee after purchasing it.

I received my MJ yesterday. It installed and ran flawlessly. So far it looks like it'll be a great investment. I chose an area code in the mid west where my family is. My mom loved not having to call long distance to talk to me. Hey, it's kind of cool having a local phone in the area you grew up in.

I paid the premium for express delivery and got the MJ in 2-days via USPS. The "bummer" is I learned they are only about 35 miles away and I probably would have gotten just as quick with the normal delivery. But, I expect you also get priority handling & order processing from their warehouse. I also experienced the echo..but that was resolved with the software updates as well as lowering the volume etc. (for the headphones) even though you are NOT using headphones..but your phone. MJ techs also told me I could use the VISTA software upgrade even with XP Pro OS. Then I encountered a situation where calls could be made out..but not received. They had me remove the original install software via modification of the registry..then re-install. Ultimately, the Tech referred my problem (not being able to receive calls) to the "senior" engineer(s). In 24-hours they repaired the problem and I have had GREAT service ever since. It is SO COOL...to get decent phone service for THIS INEXPENSIVE PRICE! I LOVE MY MJ!! :D

P.S. I never did get a confirmation email that the directions indicated I would get. So initially I was wondering how I was going to be informed of my new phone number. However, when you log on the first time your phone number is there at the top of the page that always is on your desk top screen. Basically your phone number is assigned within just a few minutes of your completing the on-line registration process. In my situation, I could only select the area code I wanted ..but not the next 3 numbers. I was concerned my family/friends trying to call me would find my number to be "long distance" for them. But as it turned out my new number was still "local".

I also found the tech reps to be very cooperative, knowledgeable and friendly. They did seem to be handling more than 1 customer at a time as you may type a question etc. and it may take them a few minutes to get back to you..but no big deal. I expressed some concern that the MJ webpage could be improved to make it more user friendly..but they were already aware of that opinion... as they receive it often from their customers.

It has now been 3 weeks since I received an email from MJ stating that my order had been fulfilled... nothing has arrived. I paid for basic shipping with no tracking, which I now realize was a mistake. I just chatted with George in Tech Chat and he simply had me fill out a replacement form at http://support.magicjack.com/returns.html

We'll see how round two goes....

I haven't gotten mine, either.

Post by GuyOnTheAir »

On Feb. 14, I ordered some MagicJacks in two separate orders. On Feb. 29, chatted with Veronica in the tech chat, who said I had to wait 4 more days. On March 4, I spoke with Tanya, who told me to wait one more day, and that she had escalated my issue, and that I would receive an email from someone at MagicJack in the next 24 hours. I have still not received any MagicJacks, and there has been no email, either.

I'm getting quite annoyed that I have waited 20 days, and not gotten my Magicjacks, nor a professional response from the company.

Each time I've contacted the support, first Veronica, then Tanya, and now Sylvester, they tell me to "check with my local postal office", or remind me that "the order has been shipped."
Sylvester: It has been shipped
Sylvester: it is misplaced in the transaction, I would suggest you to go to the post office personally and check with them.
GuyOnTheAir: And what am I supposed to ask them? "Where is a package from MagicJack? They claim they sent it, but I didn't get it?"
Sylvester: Please check
Sylvester: May be some problem in delivering or as such.
GuyOnTheAir: There are no delivery problems. I've gotten all my other mail, and packages.
GuyOnTheAir: Replacements need to be sent.
Sylvester: For that i will have to escalate your issue to the concern department
GuyOnTheAir: Tanya claimed she already escalated my issue yesterday.
Sylvester: When did you have a chat with Tanya
GuyOnTheAir: Mar 4, 2008 8:41:17 PM EST
Sylvester: The the solution will be on the way to you.
Sylvester: Have you given her the connected details.
GuyOnTheAir: Yes, I have.
Where should I go from here?

I've now hit the one month mark since my order was supposedly shipped and still nothing has arrived. It's been a week since my replacement was shipped - nothing there either. At this point I would say to either cough up the extra money for tracking or just stay away from magicjack all together.

Post by JPoldo »

Delivery time is unpredictable. If you plan to give it as a gift, allow several weeks for delivery so you aren't highly disappointed like me. I believe they ship from the West Palm Beach, FL area. My first order was delivered to MA in two buiness days. Wow, that was fast. But my second order, billed to home address but ship to my father's address in the W. Palm Beach area still hasn't arrived in 6 business days. Rats ..... he could have picked it up much faster. Support tech on chat line thinks item still hasn't shipped, but no one notified me. BEWARE OF SHIPPING PROBLEMS. I wonder if they have a quality control problem and don't have enough inventory of good working units.

JPoldo, so the second order was "fulfilled" but tech chat says that it hasn't shipped? So the order fulfillment email doesn't actually mean anything? Good to know.

MagicJackRoss, tech support yesterday said it shipped (good), then I got an email this morning from MJ claiming it shipped. Therefore, my order placed at 9 am on Mar. 7 didn't ship until at least Mar. 12. I thought their site claims same day shipment if ordered early in day. Maybe MJ depleted inventory and had to wait for more units to come in from China or wherever.
