Best phone to use?
My magic jack has been mailed, but i have not received it yet. What is the best phone to use with it? Corded or cordless? Any one brand better than another ? Any input would be helpful
A regular inexpensive corded phone is "best", when comparing quality of transmission with cost.
The new 6.0 DECT cordless phones are good, they do not interfere with other wireless stuff in your home (like your router!).
Lots of people use the softphone option with bluetooth, or with a headset.
Mostly, there is no "best".
On the other hand, there are phones that will NOT work with MJ - not by brand, but for totally inexplicable reasons. MJ would not recognize all the buttons on the keypad of my old wireless phone. Got the Panasonic DECT 6.0 at Costco, and it worked perfectly. If you DO encounter phone problems, try another phone before getting too worried about it.

I like the plain GE phone (about $6.00 at Target). Especially if you have MagicJack go through your house wiring, since this phone draws very little current. Also has the "flash" button for call waiting. The base "phone holder" can be completely separate from the cord, so the cord can go directly from the handset to the wall jack. This extends the distance of the cord, and the base doesn't fall if the cord is pulled too hard. The $10.00 caller id version doesn't have this advantage, so I returned it. If I want to see who called I can look at the softphone on the computer.
This GE model is not just another cheap phone; it has quality and style, so I now have three of them.
You also need to buy a 2 to 1 "Y" phone adapter (Target also has), if you want one of the phones hooked up to the same wall jack as the one your MagicJack is powering your house wiring with. If you do this don't forget to disconnect the phone company's wires first, or you'll fry your MagicJack.

Best phone to use.
I have all the phones in my house connected to MJ. But only the Panasonic wireless phones ring. I have 4 of the Panasonic wireless phones they are all different models but all 5.8MHZ. None of the other phones (5) ring but 4 is enough for me since I have placed them in various locations in the house.
Of the 3 non-powered and non-wireless phones, two are disconnected and I was able to leave one connected but it doesn't ring.
FYI
