Just bought two Magicjacks hoping to use them on a Apple Mac running Leopard.
Registered them relatively easy on my friends PC running Vista And they worked fine.
After registering, tried to do the beta software update...got the message Magicjack could not be found even though it was plugged in and was working fine.
Tried running "magicfix", got the same error, magicjack could not be located.
Got the same error message when trying to download the mac upgrade. Tried different USB ports and even a powered hub.
So how do I get them to work on my Apple computers?
And I won't have access to the PC computer for a few days. Can I somehow do the install from my mac?
Again the Magicjack makes & receives calls fine on a PC, just can't download the updates.
I hope to know by Friday as I want to give one to a friend heading to Iraq.
Problems with updating software

Taxi,
I think you are out of luck until you can get on a PC. You might try the MJ Tech support chat and see if they have a work-around.

taxiapple,
I you haven't already tried unplugging the MJ reboot then plug the MJ unit in. After MJ is finished with all it's little install function and claims it is ready to use then try going to this:
1. go here - http://www.magicjack.com/site/customercare.html
2. Run MagicFix
3. Then to the section on the same page entitled If you have clicked above and still need further assistance, read these: Go to the item second from the bottom and it should install the MAC upgrade which by the way claims to be MAC & PC all in one.
If you received the message "WARNING: You must plug magicJack into USB" Click here. <= this is the item to click on. It doesn't say anything about MACs but that is what it does.
You may have to try it more than once. It does not always work and you have to click on it again until it decides to give in and do what it is supposed to do.
PS - In Vista Ultimate and IE7 you have to turn off protected mode and you can do that by double clicking on the protected mode indicator in the bottom status bar on the bottom right. You would think an upgrade would be this difficult to acquire but it is!
