Got my pap2 up and running, but some questions:
1. User Agent String
under SIP tab, there are two fields:
"SIP User Agent Name:"
and
"SIP Reg User Agent Name:"
which one should I use?
2. this is an old v1 device, loaded with 3.1.6 firmware. So is there any advantage to upgrade to newer version or crossflash to Sipura?
3. With the usb dongle, the caller id shows as "5551234567/555-123-4567"(in two lines, uniden cordless phone), and with PAP2, i get "Unknown Name/555-123-4567" even the number is in the phone book. So is it normal? anyway to around it?
4. "Line1->Proxy"
what is this for? looks like anything will work....In softphone, there are 2 servers involved, vms1 and proxy1 but in PAP2, only proxy1 matters(in "Outbound Proxy" field), is it so? or did I miss something?

1. leave whatever it was, mine is like $version or soemthing and works fine.
2. there are a number of bug fixes for the firmwares you should read them and see if you want what they fix
3. this could happen due to reverse polarity on the phone line wire. if its reverse, things like caller id wont work properly. might want to try a different cable "crossover" or "straight" type.
4. Youd want to use the proxy close to you and assigned my mj.
