most calling cards work by calling a toll-free number so don't see why it wouldn't work. Once you call the tollfree access number you type in your access code and international number you are calling - there isn't any reason why it wouldn't work.

Though there does seem to be some trouble accessing a few toll-free numbers, such as ADT's , and don't know why that is, but would guess you wouldn't run into that problem with a calling card toll-free number.

If you have MagicJack, let your neighbor come over and give it a try. They don't have to make the complete call, just call the tollfree number. If the number picks up and asks for the access code then the rest of the process should work just fine.

Well to call india (people who i didn't give jacks to) i have somethign called Reliance India Call..Its very common for indians in the US. You register your phone number online so when you call the toll free number it asks you for your pin and you can call out. But for me I never tried the 800 number since it comes with a toll number too. So my point is your calling card may have a local number that you can call if the 800 toll free number does not work.

Good point! Forgot there are some like that too.
i'm sure some of the central americans cards/services have that feature too.
Either way - don't think the neighbor is going to have any troubles at all

thanks for the quick reply :) I told him the exact thing, buy one for 5 bucks and we will give it a try,its very strange but I have had some probems with toll free 1-800 #'s and numbers to my credit card company also I can call my friends cell phone but not my other friend which both use the same cell phone company, I get a short weird busy sound then all quiet, then I call with my cell and all works great  but for 20.00 bucks a year I got more than I expected :D thanks again and I will keep updating, when my neighbor buys a cheap calling card and decides to use it on my MJ.

I'm using OneSuite as my calling card service provider. After I connect to the calling card service through either local number or 800 toll free number, it asks me to dial the destination numbers. But the problem is that with MagicJack, the server could not be able to tell any numbers I pushed out from my phone, no matter it was a wireless phone or not. It kept telling me that "it's not a valid number". Then, I chatted with tech service of MagicJack and was told this was a known issue they were working on. The work around is to use the computer keyboard to push out the destination numbers after connected, which I tried and worked out.
