Can't Bootup with MJ connected

Post by ekcopolo »

I cannot start up my PC with MJ connected. I get an error message each time and Windows XP will not load; I have to disconnect the MJ and the it loads phone, then reconnect MJ. Anyone had similar issues and is there a fix that anyone knows about?

Computer/motherboard BIOSes usually have a feature to choose which devices you'll boot from, and the order it should search them. Some computers handle this better than others. You should go into the BIOS and make sure the boot sequence won't include USB devices, or they're after the hard disk.

You get into the BIOS by rebooting and pressing the delete key, or f2, or f12. It should say on the screen during the first few seconds which key to press.

Thanks for the info. Would you say then to remove USB from that list? I have a DELL Dimension 3000 and I am familiar with the BIOs

Here is a better view on how to start the computer while the magicjack device is inserted.

First you need to reboot your computer.

After you successfully done that part, Set-up will open a new window.

After selecting "Advanced BIOS Features", it will open a new window.

I hope this will help....
