I believe fring only allows you to enter an 18 digit password. Since MJ is 20 digits, you will not be able to enter it.

How about just configuring an asterisk box with MJ, and then configure your phone to talk directly to your asterisk box.

I tried doing this on my ipod touch and could not get it to work.
Skype works great but I wanna use my magicjack.
I have all my MJ SIP info by using MagicJack Utilities Suite.

I found out you can use sipgate.com on your iphone or ipod touch. (which is like fring)
But I believe your iphone needs to be jailbroken.
My Ipod touch isn't jailbroken yet so I'll wait till then.

Has anyone submitted a support ticket to see if they can make the password longer?

I got it to work on my Touch 2G but then it dies after 1st dialed out call. I don't think its the 18 character thing in Fring because the SIP illuminates in the dialpad which means that it properly authenticates.

It probably dies when dialing out for me because I use the same account/SIP credentials with an ATA which takes precedence over any other device.

My 2 cents.

but was trying to setup the same using sip settings on e51.... did anyone try this....

fring has typical 18 charecter password only for s60 symbion phones.....

The fring program on my Ipod touch takes all 20 digits of my SIP password, the problem I was having was I was not typing my password in caps!!
I felt stupid after I figured that out. But works great now.

mattyphatty, I love stupid user errors because it means that there is nothing serious to diagnose and repair. Thank you for reporting your solution.
