Error 3 - Windows 2003 - Behind Firewall

Post by whiz »

Hi,

I have recently bought an MJ and its working from home on a windows XP home edition. Now, I am trying to run it at my office. My PC has windows 2003 enterprise, is behind a firewall and I have full access to it and can change the setting if required. I dont have any other personal firewall running on my PC.

It just doesnot let me connect. It gives the Error 3 all the time. I have enabled 5060-5070 on UDP&TCP and 443 on TCP to pass through the firewall. Do I also need a port forward ? Or anything else that I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

It's not going to fix your problem, but you should only need 5060-5070 UDP not TCP.
You're just leaving yourself open.

Now to your problem.
Can this pc access the internet regularly?
Since this is an office environment, is there a proxy server?

When MJ was installed at home, did you use the Vista upgrade?

sorry for the late reply.

to answer your questions,

1. Access to internet from this PC is no problem. There is no proxy. There is only a firewall, which as I said has the port forwarding on.
2. When MJ was installed at home PC which is running XP home, it did an auto upgrade. And I see that Vista only drive extension.
