If you're having issue with caller-ID not displaying on your real phone, you could try snafu2's caller-ID fix discussed here:

Ill start it off for you. I think you read my mind
Maybe we should list what phones we are having problems with to see if there is a pattern?

I used Uniden DXAI5588-4 handset system, no Caller-ID display with MJ.

I then bought Panasonic KX-TG3034B 4-handset system, still no caller-ID with MJ.

After applying the 100K resistor mod, both sets have working caller-ID with MJ.

We have the VTech ia5847 cordless phones. Caller ID works without the 100k resistor fix.
Caller ID for our DirectTV HR21-700 (HD DVR system) did not work without the 100k resistor fix.

GE Slimline 29267GE works great with CID on XP and Vista. Got it at Big Lots for a whopping $6

I was told about a month ago by a MJ tech support person that we will have the option "soon" to choose our own caller ID recorder. We should be able to use our own machines and phones to record calls if we choose. So, I just sent head mechanic Mike a email asking about this. I'll post his reply if I get one.
new magic jack user - Vtech 5.8GHz analog phones
Just got the Magic Jack and hooked up to our new Vtech 5.8GHz analog phone set http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... d=10264046
Called ID worked the first several tries, but then stopped showing up on the phones. Was very inconsistent. Tried the 100K ohm resister trick, and it now works 100% of the time.
Update!!!!!!!!!!!! - turns out these Vtech 5.8GHz phones aren't totally compatible with the Magic Jack after all. Sound quality is great (on my end) but the person I call reports that the sound quality is terrible. It keeps cutting in and out. So I tried plugging the Magic Jack into a powered USB hub (Cyberpower from WalMart), and the problem does NOT go away! Returning this phone set to WalMart and trying something else.
I am trying out a Uniden exp970 900MHz phone and it works great so far. Only problem is, this phone doesn't offer caller ID. So I'm in the market for a 900MHz phone with caller ID. Perhaps another Uniden mode.

No in comeing cid, 100k resistor fix worked
I use windows XP and everything seemed to be working fine except the incoming CID on the phone ,soft phone was working. Did the 100k resistor fix now I have in CID almost immediately. My phone is an older Sony Spp-A2780 a remote answering base station with 4 extensions. I haven't done too much testing of other features,I've only had the mj for a couple days. Thanks for the fix! I'm new to forums , I just wanted to put my vote in for the fix ,and the phone model that it fixed.
Caller ID on Uniden & Panasonic
I wasted almost 2 hours in chat last night with MJ support. I purchased the product yesterday and couldn't get caller ID to work on my cordless Uniden phones or the Panasonic. I sure wish I had read the info from snafu2 before trying to reach them. I went to Radio Shack today, got the 100k ohm resistor and took a short phone cord, cut it into 2 pieces, soldered it back together with the resistor, plugged that piece of cord into the phone and the other end into a coupler. Plugged another phone cord into the other end of the coupler and ran it to the MJ and.........snafu2.....YOU are the Magic in magicJack! Caller ID works on all phones now. KUDOS to you!
