My majickjack works well for the most part, but I cannot call people with alltel cell phones and there calls to me are droped in less then 5 minutes...other cariers are fine...can talk for an hour with no problem.
I signed up for this board today to see if I could find an answer. I unpluged my magick jack and plugged it in again and now its telling me that my MJ is already registered and I have to put in my email and passowrd everytime I plug it in. Iv been using it in the same computer for months now. I made no changes to anything.
Can anybody help?

I've seen this behavior when I've blocked the routes to the default proxy server - but it doesn't do it all the time. Others on this forum have said they have the same issue as you.
My suggestion is to bite the bullet and contact the tech support chat folks and tell them the problem. They might have you go thru all the reinstall gyrations on your end. But I think the bottom line is that they need to reset your account. At one point I could not log in at all and it took them 10 seconds to reset the account (actually they said they would "refresh" my account) and the problem went away.

I also experience this problem but like you for me it is not every time. I believe the problem is on the MJ end. So I would like to suggest that when you contact Tech Chat please don't let them dismantle your machine, not everyone has the skills to put it all back together and then you will be upset - Big Time.
When you call tech chat immediately start telling them what you need, don't joke with them (they don't understand USA humor and will get very confused). Tell them you need your account refreshed and keep asking the first responder to escalate the problem to someone that can handle the higher level requests. They will do what I am suggesting you ask them to do but you will have to be staunch and not give in to any crazy things the first responder wants you to do to your machine. If you have to go get a cup of coffee and come back and tell them well that didn't do it either (not having done it of course) can I now please have this call escalated?
Two cents.
PS - Please let us know when they reset your account if that fixes the problem so we can build a history of what does and doesn't work.

Re: Help with MJ wanting a password and email everytime its
See the wiki FAQ under "Problems" and "why can't I call some numbers." There is a trick involving an asterisk (*) which may help. It won't help the incoming problem. But, it may help outgoing.majicknothing wrote:My majickjack works well for the most part, but I cannot call people with alltel cell phones and there calls to me are droped in less then 5 minutes...other cariers are fine...can talk for an hour with no problem.

See the MagicJack Wiki (FAQ, How-To, history and more).
I have the exact same issue with my MagicJack prompting me to login every time I plug it in or reboot my computer. This forced me to stop running it as a service and install it on an old laptop.
I contacted Tech Support about this a month ago and they insisted it was a new security update and there was no way to get rid of it.

BOGUS!! I think they make things up as they go along! I suspect that if you get them to "refresh" (aka, reset) your account this problem will go away. For a time I could not log in at all and the MJ kept saying that it was not connected to the Internet. After appeasing the tech chat person that I was removing the MJ, inserting the MJ, etc etc they finally said that my "account had to be refreshed." After that, the login problems went away.cruz878 wrote:I have the exact same issue with my MagicJack prompting me to login every time I plug it in or reboot my computer.
