Vista problem with run as a service

Post by railman229 »

I have tried semi-charmed's way and Franks. I get dialtone but numbers will not recognize when dialing a number just stays as a dialtone. MagickJack service does not start and will not manually start. I get a message indicating that the service started and stopped hwne not in use by other vista processes.

event viewer says MagicJack service is an interactive process and the system is not configured to allow an interactive process so it may not function correctly. Any ideas ?

SOLVED!!!!

The fix is this.. Vista will not allow a service to run interactive anywhere except the system32 folder. In order for semi-charmed's step-by-step to be fully functional in Vista you have to modify his step 4 which is...

4) Open My Computer and go to
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data
and move the mjusbsp folder to
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data

And instead put the folder in C:\Windows\system32 folder and address your targets as C:\windows\system32\mjusbsp

Hope this helps!!!

Also you will get popups from Vista's Interactive Services Detection Service saying you need to read a message All it is is the softphone box trying to popup.

Some here may disagree but I just disabled the Interactive Services Detection in the Service Tab.

Works perfectly!!!

Would someone be kind enough to relist the complete fix for Vista? Along with the corrections to run properly?

Thanks!
