Waiting for it to Register..

Post by jumpingjack »

I been waiting for a email with the link to verify my email. I been waiting for two days, but haven't receive it yet.

Got the unit setup on Wednesday and the registering did say you suppose to get a Email verify your email to get a license.

It is still working, can make calls- but the yellow ID is still there. How long do you have to wait..

Is it a Magicjack glitch? Wondering if it a something on my end blocking it..

ran the Magicfix, everything check ok. So what next..

My email from them ended up in my junk mail folder, you might want to have a look in there.

jumpingjack,

1. You could contact them and see what the holdup is.

2. I never received one from them and it has been several months and my system still works just fine. So I don't think it is anything you have to worry about.

jumpingjack,

The Yellow/Green light is only to indicate that the 911 authorities have accepted your address and have it registered in their files. For me it took several days and you can bet they don't work on the weekends so you probably won't see that go green until the middle of next week.

You can still use 911 they just will not know your location, so God forbid you have to use it make sure you identify your location to them.

Funny, I didn't remember any registration email requirement when setting mine up in late 2007. Everything has been working fine, E911 light is green

LikeMagic,

Actually I had forgotten about the email verification that never happened until it got brought up here. I normally would have fretted about something like that but at the time I was so anxious to test this $39 dollar gadget that I moved straight on to making calls and completely forgot about the email verification that I never received.

But as I have already mentioned I have been using mine for several months and (knock on wood) they haven't 86ed me yet. It is probably one of those "coming soon" features MagicJack is always talking about.

I don't believe I had to do anything special, besides entering my physical house address into the E911 address box. After I entered my house address the E911 light turned GREEN a moment later, no email confirmation needed on my part.

LikeMagic,

I think we are talking about two different things here. The email verification thing happened as part of getting your phone number assigned. They had a mandatory minimum of one working email address. After you entered it there was a message that the process wouldn't be complete until you responded to the email confirmation message they would send "SOON" The devil made me put the "Soon" in there, it sort of fits the MagicJack Modus operandi. Anyway I never received one and everything worked and worked so well that I just completely forgot about it, obviously it has not been implemented yet thus my tasteless humor about "Soon".

I think the OP also mixed in the 911 with his comments about the email certification, I sorry I don't remember your handle but if he was nervous about not getting the email confirmation I can see where he was probably nervous about the 911 not turning green after entering the address. I actually remember getting a little disturbed about that also. All of that junk happens before you get to see if the damn thing is even going to work. I remember thinking to my self well if the rest work as well as the sign-up process I just purchased $39 dollars worth of garbage.

But much to my surprise the little bugger worked far beyond my expectations. I have no VOIP experience to compare against but every time I use it I am so impressed with the connection quality that I am well aware of this little smirk I get on my face thinking $19 dollars a year, I sure have pulled a fast one on someone if you know what I mean.

Back to the Yellow light Green light, mine took about three days but it might have also been over a weekend. But yours turning green almost immediately must have something to do with your persona, and/or forum handle "LikeMagic" i.e. "as ye think"... etc. :P

Anyway I am just rambling so I'll quit before everyone figures out how strange I really am (if they haven't already).

may be an issue with your firewall

set to allow ALL outbound TCP traffic and ALL UDP traffic - setting it as trusted doesn't work.
