PROBLEM WITH INCOMING CALL

Post by yasir2k »

When someone calls me, my phone does not ring and it is set on "Telephone". Also, the window that pops up for me to accept or reject incoming call ops up and disappears in a second so I am not even able to accept it. I will appreciate any input

What do I do to get you the specs. It is windows XP SP2 and has 512 of RAM.
It is going through an ISP that provides Cable Modem and if I am able to click on the accpet button as soon as the popup comes, the call goes through. THe problem is that the popup disappears right away and I am not able to hearing any incoming rings either.

Have you tried different phone? Did you set the phone ringer to silence? What phone do you use?

I have tried another generic phone and that is the same thing. I have tried several phones and none seem to work. The problem is with the popup not staying in its place.

I was searching for your problem and found your other post's

The best advice I could give you is to try it on another pc maybe a neighbor or friend, if it has the same problem on another pc running xp then it is a problem with your MJ and you will need to contact MJ support for a replacement unit. The people who answered your previous post are very good at solving issues and it sounds to me like a defective device, but first try it out on another pc, it could be your pc that has the problem.

let us know how it goes.

Let's tackle this issue one thing at a time. The pop-up not staying in its place, do you have antivirus/adware blocker, pop-up blocking programs installed such as Norton Security suite, Super Popup Blocker, etc? Some of these programs could block desktop pop-ups as well. Try to disable them to see if the MJ pop-up would stay.

So when you see the pop-up message, can you pick up the phone and answer (even you could not hear it ring)? I just want to understand your problem better before giving out my best guess

Also, have you tried the MJ device on another PC to see if it works better? If it works on a different PC then you can blame your old PC

set firewall to allow ALL outbound TCP and ALL UDP traffic.
do not set to trusted app - doesn't work.
