Apparently magicjack does not play well with this router. My calls would drop, would have to restart the device constantly.
Replaced above mentioned router with a wireless N Dlink router and magicjack has been working flawlessly since then.
Hope this helps.
WRT54GS v2 router

I have dozens of these routers operating with VoIP behind them. I have found that changing the MTU from Auto (1500) to Manual (1492 or 1432) makes communications rock solid. This has been noted in several recent threads here, which I assume you have read.
Hardware Version 2 also happens to be the most sought after version due to its having the largest complement of RAM and Flash memory in the product series.

I have this exact router and version (v2). I made a big mistake by upgrading to Cisco's latest firmware (4.71.x). Upon doing so, I'd get dropped connections after 30 seconds, call completions ending up back to dialtone, etc.
I decided to take some others' advice and install the Tomato firmware. All is great now. I've even setup the QoS to allow my magicjack server (I have a 65W computer dedicated for MJ) to be top priority. Things "appear" to be working great now. I'll try to make future posts detailing my progress/experience.

Great choice. My personal choice is DD-WRT, but this is mostly due to familiarity with that package over many years of use. I understand Tomato has some features that DD-WRT does not, and I am sure you will be happy with your choice.aoeu00 wrote:I decided to take some others' advice and install the Tomato firmware.
I tried scanning through any thread I could find talking about this router, but never came across any of this. Perhaps then it is the current firmware causing the problem. I had the tomato firmware on it before, but switched back to linksys...but this was way before I got the magicjack. Maybe I'll try the tomato firmware again.
I wouldn't want to go from N back to G, but the Linksys does have a stronger wireless signal thoughout my house than the Dlink.
