Using MJ with Flashphone

Post by sbw07 »

I'm trying to use mj with Flashphone. Problem is I'm not too much of a techie and I don't know how to get all the info they ask for, particularly SIP Proxy. Could someone help me? Will i have to wait for BYOD?

I am not very familiar with the flashphone, however after looking at it briefly, I would say you are going to wait for the MJ BYOD program to obtain the necessary information to utilize the flashphone. Let us know if you have any successes with it.

I asked MJ Tech Chat for the SIP proxy and they told me it's reg.talk4free.com . However I'm still hesitant about giving them my MJ username (I believe that would be my email address, correct?) & password, especially since both Firefox & IE tell me there's something wrong with the site's security certificate.
Does anyone know if they're trustworthy?

Dan, the owner of MJ is very well respected within the telco community, MJ has probably sold somewhere in the area of 100,000 MJ's. They are in this for the long haul. There are no gurantees on the internet, but I would have to say yes, they are trustworthy.

Sorry if I was unclear. My concern is not with MJ at all, but I am concerned about Flashphone. If you click on the link you'll probably be alerted to a problem with their security certificate. Can I trust them with my mj account info?

I did misunderstand you...sorry, but I have no clue about how reliable Flashphone is...if you find out anything let us know. If they have CS speak to them and ask them about the certificate.

They created their own SSL certificate - they did not purchase one from a trusted CA (Certificate Authority).

I would not provide any personal or financial information without a valid SSL from a trusted CA.

There are different levels of SSL - if they can't even get a DV (domain validation) cert (all you need is a phone # and valid contact information on WHOIS) then I wouldn't trust them.
