Voicemail & Echos

Post by shermnpat »

Where to begin? I am on my second mJ. I am having the same issues on the second one as I did the first one. I bought the first one online and returned it because my 30 day trial was about to run out. I bought the second one at Best Buy.
When I first hooked the first one up, I was amazed at the sound quality and most everything seemed to be working correctly except that it was sending my voicemails to the wrong email address. I need to explain this:when I ordered, I had to give an email address. When I installed, it asked for an email address. I (for some reason) thought it was asking for another address for verification reasons? Anyway, I soon figured out I had made a mistake. I could not fix it thru the program so I used Live Chat. It took several hours over a 3 day period to fix that.
However, there were still a few bugs I had discovered:
All of my voicemails were going to my email. This was good. All my voicemails were showing up on the softphone. This was good. All of my voicemails were not there when I tried to retrieve them remotely. This was not good. It seemed to be completely random as to which ones I was able to access remotely.
When forwarding was enabled, it forwarded some calls; others it answered as if forwarding was disabled. When it did work, the voice on both ends had a very bad echo.
I was never able to call mJ from our PBX at work. And it was never the same. Sometimes I would get a busy signal, sometimes 3 beeps, sometimes "you must first dial a 1 or a 0". It didn't matter whether I used the area code or not.
I spent well over 10-12 hours on Live Chat to no avail. Except we did finally get rid of the echo (not by reducing the volume, that was done early on) Then I ordered the second one. It has been the same, only worse. All the original issues are there along with some new ones. The echo is back. Now when I leave voicemails, occasionally a male voice will answer, instead of the normal female voice. When the male voice answers, his voice echos through the base station, and when I leave a message, my voice echos throgh the base station. I spent another 4 hours with Live Chat to no avail, so have given up on that route.
I have done all the things in mJ help many times, upgraded countless times, checked my processor speed, etc. I am using a cordless phone hooked to mJ as one of the main reasons for getting mJ was to drop my landline. I also am on DSL through AT&T, so I don't need landline phone service.
Please, someone out there, please, please help me!!!! It has a mind of it's own!!!!! I want to like it. The voice quality is superb. I want Caller ID. I don't want to keep paying for a landline I don't need (nor $7.50/month for Caller ID). I never had a problem calling out from mJ on my cordless, nor calling my cordless thru mJ (except PBX).
HELP!!!!!!!!
