AT&T and Vonage Begging to Get Me back as Customer
I left Vonage and AT&T to jump on the MJ bandwagon. Now I am getting flooded with calls, postal mail etc. with huge discount offers trying to get me back as a
customer. NO MORE RIP-OFFS OR HIGH BILLS WITH THOSE RIDICULOUS TAXES!!!!! I LOVE MY MAGICJACK. Now if AT&T wants to offer me service for the samed $20/year I might re-consider. Time to sell your stock in those other company's before they go kaput. They can't survive the competition offered by MJ!!!

hahaha yea same thing happend to me with comcast... my digital voice was $45 a month, when i cancelled they asked me if i wanted 6 months of digital voice for $19.99 a month and i replied with"what about $19.99 a year for 2 years?" and they said "im sorry but no phone company will give you a deal like that" and i just laughed and said "just cancel my account". I have a cell phone and hardly use comcast that much so MJ will save me $45 a month.edkoby wrote:I left Vonage and AT&T to jump on the MJ bandwagon. I have a lady-friend that is a senior vice president at Comcast. She told me that when you press the correct digit on their IVR system, that is to cancel service, your call is routed to a different call center that exists for the purpose of customer retention only. She went on to say that if you ask that they sweeten whatever offer they give, as long as its reasonable you will get what you ask for as long as they can provide it in a manner that still allows them to make a buck. For example, the use of a DVR at no charge, or something along that line. She continued to say that at the end of that deal, just call back to cancel once again, and you'll get a new deal. You should never and will not ever pay retail rates for service.hahaha yea same thing happend to me with comcast... my digital voice was $45 a month, when i cancelled they asked me if i wanted 6 months of digital voice for $19.99 a month and i replied with"what about $19.99 a month for 2 years?" and they said "im sorry but no phone company will give you a deal like that" and i just laughed and said "just cancel my account". Don't try that with Time-Warner, or they will charge you for just asking, and then they will overcharge for that again still, haha! But what is even more weird, is that I have Verizon FIOS, and I will have had it a year in October. They have yet to bill me, and I think it is because I never created an online account and email address! On top of that they gave me a free upgrade to 15/15 internet service, up from 5/2, for being a loyal early subscriber!

Canceled Vonage this evening. Took about 30 minutes to get a human. Went through the rountine. Offered a month free then 2 months. blah blah. We were ready for the routine after reading the horror stories on the net about cancelling with them. We were with them for 4 years so didn't have the $40 fee applied. Had a business account with fax line and a toll free number. Thanks Dan for saving us $65+ a month! So far MJ sounds better than Vonage ever did.

I was paying $29.95 a month for unlimited telephone thourgh Charter Cable. (After taxes it was near $40 !) After I canceled they offered me the same plan for $19.95. I asked them why I was not offered that the first time. The respose was "uhhhh duhhh" I have been a cable and high speed internet customer for over 3 years. They send mail to my home almost every week still.
I know that I have recommended magicJack to 5 friends/relitives. 4 of them have canceled their home phone. Will DSL and Cable Internet providers jack up the price of the internet to offset the lost?
Now if only we could get the cell phone company on their knees begging.....
