Hi,
I've just bought my second Magicjack and plan to use in on the road with my laptop.
Since I find the Magicjack adapter (and need to carry a phone) to be bulky, I've been using softphone with all the Magicjack programs running locally off my hard drive. So far it's been great.
I don't like using using a headset/microphone so I've been using an inexpensive USB phone. This USB phone is recognized by softphone as being a mulitmedia device playback and record. Surprisingly the sound is very good.
Originally the USB phone was purchased to use with Skype. There was a seperate program I would run that would allow me to dial a number on the USB phone keypad that would work within skype as if it was a regular phone. I would like to do with with the MagicJack softphone. The USB phone is pretty generic but the model number is AU100 (?) . I have no idea who makes it.
- Does anyone know if this is possible?
- Is the Magicjack softphone made by MJ or someone else. Maybe I could use their software?
- Since the numeric keyboard (on my laptop keyboard) works in softphone is there a way to my modify the USB phone keyboard to become a numeric keyboard?
Thanks
D
