Hi, can you explain what you want to achieve? I'm not sure what you mean by "extension".helloworld08 wrote:is it possible to have one magic jack account and have multiple extensions? the main line is located in the US, while extension is located in China? please advice...
Let me take a guess to see if this helps. If you want free calls between someone in the US and someone in China, then the person in China should have the MJ. Then the person in China can call anyone in the US for free. That's assuming the person in China has decent high speed internet.

Can I use the magicjacks sip credentials setup 2 softphone that are in different locations and instead of dialing phone number we dial extensions (like in a office) so basically can we use one magicjack to communicate with each other.tony wrote:Hi, can you explain what you want to achieve? NO. Use of the same SIP credentials from two locations at the same time will result in termination of your account.helloworld08 wrote:Can I use the magicjacks sip credentials setup 2 softphone that are in different locations and instead of dialing phone number we dial extensions (like in a office) so basically can we use one magicjack to communicate with each other.

Skype (PC to PC ) would do what you want and it's free. For that matter, any of Live/MSN Messenger or Google Talk will do what you need for free.helloworld08 wrote:Can I use the magicjacks sip credentials setup 2 softphone that are in different locations and instead of dialing phone number we dial extensions (like in a office) so basically can we use one magicjack to communicate with each other.
But maybe I'm missing something here, what is the attraction of MJ for what you what to do compared to the free alternatives? You mentioned you'd use the softphone, so clearly it's not the fact you can use a regular phone handset with MJ.
