Because you didn't read the instructions!

When you first hear a voice press the asterisk key then enter your password. If you haven't changed it the default is 1234.

All the answers to the questions you are asking on all of your post are all very simple and are all located on MJ's web site please go to MJ's homepage and read the instructions or faq. If its something technical or you are having problems with your MJ and you can not find the answer on the MJ website then you can post your problem.

curiousgeorge,

I just noticed your Avatar "The Matrix & MagicJack". I like the Avatar and I especially like the innuendo.

George , if you take the time to carefully read my post you will see that I was NOT calling back to check my messages , but I called from a different line and instead of getting my greeting message that I recorded, I instead heard the voice of the woman who does the greeting before you set up your voicemail. sometimes I get my greeting and other times I get the woman greeting , do you know why this is happening?

This is very strange, it should not matter what phone you dial from. What have you tried so far? for example re-recording your greeting, using a diffrent phone etc. and what did MJ tech support suggest for a fix? it could be a problem with MJ server having issues with your #, also what is your setup?(pc/laptop,OS,router/network,ram,etc.)the more info the better might also want to post your area code and see if others are having the same problem with voicemail with MJ some area codes have downtimes every so often,oh and can you call out and recieve calls with no problems?.

babbagene,

"why did this happen"

Not picking on you but at the moment MJ (off and on) just does not do everything as you would expect. And its functionality changes from day to day (sometime hour to hour). The best suggestion I can give you is if the straight phone functions are working for you give the bells & whistles a little time.

I can honestly say they appear to be working on everything, just at a little slower pace than any of us like.

Sow hang in and you will see some of these anomalies disappear over time.

babbagene,

Now that you have mentioned area codes, don't think your MJ is broken because you seem to be the only one having a particular problem. Not only do some of the problems come and go but they can also be peculiar to an area code or a bunch of area codes and not necessarily all area codes at the same time. Also most of these little quirks don't seem to last more than a day or so.

I have notice that they (their programmers) will test something on line live and then pull it, regardless of whether or not it is working. We have all seen them do this on some of their WEB functions i.e. they had a function in the customer section that would allow you to list all your calls (date, time, number etc) and it worked great, but alas now it is gone. It seems as though they are building up to something pretty spectacular but don't want to release it until they have the whole enchilada ready to go.

babbagene, glad to hear its working for you :) and holmanGT is correct on all these weird bugs, trust me your not alone on this issue or any others that might sneek up on you in the future, its all part of the beta testing wich is being done by us the customers for $20.00 a year I think its well worth the anoying problems as long as they do not go on forever and ever.
