Interface / Software basic, Not the rich black interface

I have been searching.... no answers so far.
I can use the MJ, it comes up and it works, but the software / interface is a basic looking plain non graphic window and the writing is scrunched together. It's weird. It is correct on my other computer, the rich black interface with all the buttons where they belong, but on my HP laptop it's not. It used to be several months ago (I haven't used my MJ in quite a while). I'm stumped. Has anyone had this problem or know of a fix?
