per-call (*67) Caller ID blocking does not work

Post by techfreak »

I dialed *67 x-xxx-xxx-xxxx within the magicjack application and a regular phone but my magicjack number still shows up. I tried to block my callerid using the spoofing script and it doesnt work either. Does it have to do with anything that I'm from Canada or my router?

I'm not aware that Caller ID blocking is a feature. I don't think it is?

No, MJ does not support call blocking at the moment and I recently read a thread that shows other MJ users having issues with the spoofer utility also.

Tell me, Mr. Anderson... what good is a phone call... if you're unable to speak?

MJ does not presently support *67. If you are using the spoofer, run Wireshark and verify that the Privacy: header is being sent to the server. If so, perhaps MJ has changed things so that the header is no longer accepted.

i've gotten *67 to work, and also *78 & *79 (turns DND on & off, respectively I hate late night phone calls when I have company spending the night).

Maybe I'm just lucky like that.

works for me

My MJ number is (530) 845-XXXX.

I just re-checked the *67 caller ID and it seems to work just
fine in warm California.

OK SpamBox,

I have seen you post this before, and I hate to admit in public that I don't know but what do those number do exactly?

OK never mind thru clever deductive reasoning; DND Do not disturb Duh!

[Edit] *67 does not work when calling my cell phone (AT&T).

As SpamBox posted, *78 and *79 do seem to work. In fact, they seem supported in the softphone, as a bullet point and "DND" appear in the upper screen when it is on!

I am using the spoofer (which seems to work just fine for me, with two different and very recent MagicJack numbers), and *67 doesn't do anything for me (at least on the one I had handy to test). The spoofer does have a checkbox for "Block CalledID" which does work just dandy (on both), however.
