pap2 up for months but now wont connect
this morning all of the sudden it wont connect, any ideas or did this happen to anyone else today?
Dunno, but this is probably a good indication. It has happened a couple of times in the past year that I've been using an ATA. I don't imagine we're all using the same proxy, and it's having issues.srvctek wrote:No, were new passwords sent?j1sjeep wrote:Ditto... Wife just emailed me to say there's no dialtone, so I logged into my ATA and got "register failed". I won't be able to try til I get home, but have you plugged your magicjack in and retrieved the new PW?

Good to hear... Someone else posted that they weren't able to get the sip creds after the update.srvctek wrote:No problem, its just a password change, I put my jack in and pulled the sip credentials and compared them to the old one and the password is the only difference, I entered the new password in the pap2 and it logged on immediately now all is well again
Whats the new agent string look like?
MJinfo is the easiest way, it still works perfectly after this updatej1sjeep wrote:Good to hear... Yeah, have no idea how he was trying to get the info... I'm still using pmdump. Think I'll save myself a minute or so and give it MJinfo a shot when I get home. So MJinfo will show the agent string as well??srvctek wrote:MJinfo is the easiest way, it still works perfectly after this updatej1sjeep wrote:Good to hear... It stopped working for me also .srvctek wrote:this morning all of the sudden it wont connect, any ideas or did this happen to anyone else today?
MJ is blocking the SIP details

Never needed it and i never got booted off except for a password change. Is that string even transmitted to them?j1sjeep wrote:That sucks... So you don't bother with the agent string? Certainly not necessary, but might help mask the fact you're not playing by the rules. I always update the string when i get a software update. Looks like this: MagicJack/1.80.466c

Yes, the string is sent... I was playing around with recording sip calls with Cain. It showed the agent string going over the wire when the client logs into the proxy.srvctek wrote:Never needed it and i never got booted off except for a password change. Yeah, I was just coming here to post the same thing. What's up with that shit?Poo619 wrote:Hello,
My password changed 2 times today alone! The first time it changed I needed to update to the latest version and it gave me the new password. It worked for a few hours and again failed to connect. Looked again and it was another password all together! Anyone else have this happen?
My two year renewal's coming up, and I still don't have a phone number in my own goddamned area code. If I can't even keep this damn thing running in a way that makes sense, that's the deal breaker.

Ditto. I can confirm that:
a) I was able to get new SIP credentials after upgrading MJ.
b) apply new credentials (password only) to ATA and get a successful "register" and Green Voip light.
c) dial a number out as well as receive incoming calls.
1 hour later:
can still receive incoming calls, ATA is still registered and showing VOIP light but CANNOT dial out (getting a fast busy).
so, looks like we will need some more hacking (hint to Stroths....) but first off, can PAP ATA users tell us if they are getting this same problem?? Perhaps this is only a problem with ATA's like mine that don't have a vehicle to enter the User Agent string....

No go here with a PAP2
I can't connect with a PAP2 even with the new password. Dongle connects without a problem
Like most of the above using a Linksys ATA. Got a new password this morning, it worked for a while, then stopped. Got a second new password, and it's not working. I can plug the Magicjack dongle in and it works.
Also, I have a second Magicjack that I just got recently, and it's working fine with the Linksys. I don't know why the older one that's been working for months suddenly won't work.
The only reason I got a second Magicjack is because I could use it with an ATA. I hope someone figures out a fix soon.

Same problems too!
OK, this might be a stretch but maybe their servers are overwhelmed with all the updates? At least thats what I am hoping but it seems strange that only those with boxes are all having this problem.
It's not working through my pbx provider either. Password changed 2 times today, but only 1 of my jacks changed 2 times. The other is still the same PW. Me thinks we are gonna need a new hack! This is a big dissapointent as I was using SIP on my cell phone and it was great!

I was using a cisco UC520 with qa SIP UA and saw password changed.
change the sip ua creds with new password but no calls in or out.
For now I have hooked back up dongle and went back to using fxo with dongle and dial-peers till this get hammered out.
I will not have some time to try and debug untill next month

"Well It’s not rocket science but absolutely a nightmare. At the end of the day you had a fairly unique situation that I personally at this moment in time could see me having as well 24/7. With all due respect, it shouldn’t of happened"
on my mac it didn´t work after two times password change tod
i am using grandstream ht502. had two times the password change today. After that id didn´t register anymore. did anyone try another sip port instead of 5070?
I need a little help!
I have three MJ accounts, two of them installed overseas (PAP2T & SPA3102 both in Colombia) and one in the US (SPA3102). As of this morning two of them stopped working (one in Colombia and the one in the US). The only thing in common I can see between the two units that do not longer work have is the proxy server (the one that works uses proxy1.miami.talk4free.com while the other two use proxy1.losangeles.talk4free.com).
I upgraded the SW to one of the faulty units and I was able of retrieving its credentials after the upgrade by using MJ suite V1.6 (I had to increase the Delay Time to 5 seconds, new MJ version=1.80.484a). The problem is that the new credentials do not longer work neither on the PAP2T nor in the SPA3102 units. If someone has any idea, I am ready and willing to perform any test right away and, of course, sharing the results with the community.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
