HELP!!! is MJ down!!! ??

Post by jimisbell »

For the last 12 hours I have had a message on screen that says that for the next 60 seconds I should not dial because there is an upgrade in progress. I have NO phone service and the message never goes away. I also have a message that I should "double click here" because there is no internet connection. But there IS internet connection, because I am using it NOW>>>>Is there a problem with MJ?

I noticed that 12 people have read this. None have responded. Does that mean your phone service is down but you dont want to talk about it. Or does that mean your phone service is ok, and you dont want to talk about it ? ? ? ?

Geese, someone talk. Either your service is fine and MJ is NOT down and I should start looking elsewhere....or your service is down and I should relax till its back in service.....

either case I would like to hear about it.

Twelve hours? Man, you're patient. I would have rebooted that thing hours ago.

Have you tried restarting the phone? Have you tried to double click where it asks?

I did reboot, and it still comes back to the same message that in the next 60 seconds I will be recieving an important upgrade......but it never changes.

I Take it you dont have that message and all is well??

Double clicking on the message flashes a "registration" screen that immediately disappears.

Same here: "important upgrade" message on a maroon background, double-clicking flashes a registration window. Logging off and back on restarts MJ with the same behavior.

I think the upgrade broke something as it relates to the HP Thin Client because it works fine on my Desktop, but no longer on the Thin Client.

Not the case. My thin client works fine; no problems.

Don't forget to Commit

Post by stroths »

For those running XP Embedded (XPe) on their thin clients, you must COMMIT and reboot or the changes will not stay from the upgrade which will cause issues.

On the HP's there is a little lock on the taskbar near the clock in Windows. Right click that and choose "Commit" after MJ has run its upgrade.

Ok I got my desktop working by going into the softphone advanced setting and clicking on the majicfix option. This takes you to the MJ site where you can download a update.exe file. I downloaded the file left the softphone running and ran the update file. The softphone closed and apparently the update finished however the softphone did not restart automatically. I manually restarted the softphone from the desktop icon and up popped a screen asking me to verify my email address and MJ login password. Once I did that the softphone loaded and functions normally.

Hi pple just thot id let u know my magic jack is finally up n runnin (again). My hunch was that some virus or spy ware had disabled my internet connection since i wasnt able to install Mcfee or avant antivures from the net it kept statin "no internet connection available"
Im not a really techie person but my solution was really simple-system restore. I restored to a month prior. n it works just fine. Hope this helps someone someday...it can be pretty depressin.
