FIND THE 'WORKAROUND' FOR ALL!!!!!!!!
This post no LONGER works as a workaround!!!
WE STILL NEED A FIX! Some users are up and some are down since update.
-------------------------------------
Okay FINALLY I GOT THE SHIT WORKING!!!!!!!!!
After being effected for days.
I do not want to post the easy solution prematurely on here because who knows if this could go down again from the security team of MJ reading this forum!
I will repost in this thread after I KNOW for sure it remains UP!
I'm Using Asterisk/Trixbox/Elastix/Freepbx even tho what I just did will work for anyone I am sure....
And some of you may hate me for saying it has nothing to do with dual passwords, register times, hardware, its unbelievable how stupid this is... There is one catch tho.
-Oh BTW here is my 'sip show registry' results on my pbx that someone asked ask me for whatever reason, and yes, it is working 100% had my magic jacks for about 3 months

The SOLUTION:
What I did was read the forums and realized that it was only affecting users who already had service for awhile and needed updates.
I went ahead and logged into my account and said 'what the hell, I'll request a NEW number to get a NEW authorization password.' I did it and used MJINFO to get the new sip information and it freakin worked. The drawback was I had to change to a new number. All of the configs remained the same on my end except for the User Agent, the NEW pass and NEW EXXXXXX01 ID. So that's it folks... I didn't want to be a prick and hold out on this but this is a simple fix for me so far. Let others know if this worked for you. BTW Your OLD NUMBER WILL STILL WORK for 30 days. As a matter of fact, after punching in the new info I tested it by calling my new number and old number, sure enough it WORKED!!!!!!!!! Old number will forward for 30 days.
Sharing is Caring!!!! REPLY if it worked for you so we ALL know
MJ still is worth it so far.

doan866, please send me a PM so I can try it on my ac211 (old sunrocket ATA). I'll post here if it works or not, but wait for YOU to post the info. And, no, I'm not from MJ [nor do I play that annoying guy on TV infomercials...

I say, only share it over PM, with those who have been around here for awhile. Yea that sucks for new members, but once they get a few post under there belts, then someone could PM them. Sharing info out in the open, got us where? Our ATA's blocked, thats where. I remember when I first started hanging around here, it was practically forbidden to share info out in the open, about the methods used to get your password, proxy info, etc.... It changed, and the admins/mods even started offering awards/prizes(like free MagicJacks) for solid post.
Not sure that was the best thing to do....

Hey all.... get some sleep or relax for now.. I will post solution up when I get back home.. if somone else has ran into the same fix or other fix prior to my return then congrats... I just want to give my accounts ample time to work before mj gets a large influx of traffic and starts looking in this forum to shutdown users.
Time will tell before this happens again.

boyz i am in the same boat
i have been runing for 6 months on dlink dvg-2001s
and now nothing.
it appears that the passwords and proxy's where updated.
the old proxy dns entries are pointing to the new servers so thats not the issue. i am wondering if they changed the ports on us.
i was running ports 5070 because 5060 did not work for me.

I agree. There is not point to have a solution if we don't know if it works at 100% yet. Also I wouldnt recomend to have many ppl using the fix at the same time for now. Lets have the ones with the most experience to get this rigth. I'm sure we all will have the solution soon.doan866 wrote:Hey all.... get some sleep or relax for now.. Still up and running
Just wanted to chime in again. I have two MJ up and running both in and out on a pap2. Not sure why. The only thing that I can think off is when all this went down, my ata was unplugged and sitting at a friends house. I gave it to her to try it out on Tuesday morning and she never plugged it in. When I took it back today to see what the issue was and try to figure it out, I got home plugged in and everything was working. Didn't do any updates either. So maybe this will help.
