I can't call one phone number, my daughter's cell phone number. I have family plan with Sprint and have no problems calling my cell phone but when I call my daughter's cell phone I get 3 quick busy signals then nothing.
Chatted with MagicJack tech support, they said call Sprint. Makes no sense, nobody has a problem reaching my daughter. Did anybody have a problem that just one number (or an exchange) was unreachable with MagicJack?

be sure to include the area code then number.... try it if it works for you.MartyB wrote:I can't call one phone number, my daughter's cell phone number. Re: Can't call one number
Gooney - brilliant!! That dd it! I am calling a 516 number from a 516 number, ordinarily I just dial the phone number and I get connected, for some reason Magicjack has a problem with that exchange. If I dial "1-516-number" the call goes through like a champ! I am now curious, who's problem is it? Magicjack or Sprint? The routing from 516-422 to 516-410 is whos responsibility? The caller or callee? Anyway, I am glad that I can now use my Magicjack phone to call my daughter! Thanks again Gooney!gooney wrote:be sure to include the area code then number.... try it if it works for you.MartyB wrote:I can't call one phone number, my daughter's cell phone number. That's funny-and MJ tech support never said to try that?-I had to do that also for anyone to reach me they had to put the 1 and area code in the number. Thats because it was long distance for them to call me across town because even though it was the right area code the prefix was for a town 30 miles away and they all had to pay a toll to call me which made people real happy! I now got a new number from them as they got numbers for my town. All local calls are now free for local people.

With magicjack you dont need to press 1 before the area code... same goes for all voip service, but i could be wrong, so if you dial local without the area code and the first 3 digits are the same as an area code somewhere in the u.s, magicjack will read it as one... for example 516-410-xxxx, 410 is an area code in Maryland...magicjack will read it as an area code. MJ needs to resolve this bug.
