I apologize if there already is a fix for this.
here is my problem. I use MJ with a phone handset on my main computer. I have it running on another user account in windows so it doesnt pop up and interrupt me while i am working. Basically i would like MJ to run in the background and pay it no mind and my phone will work independently of my computer.
The last thing that is impeding this goal for me is the fact that whenever i mute my speaker volume (which i may do several times throughout the day since i listen to a lot of music and may want to turn it off temporarily) it mutes the phone so that i cant hear what people are saying but the mic is still working. Very often i have a phone call come in, or make an outgoing call, without realizing that my computer in the other room was inadvertently left on mute. Then they will hear me and i will not hear them. Most times i will assume the call didnt "take" and attempt a redial several times before remembering to check if my computer volume is muted. This is something i would like to figure out a hack/fix for. Maybe the mute button on my keyboard is a global mute command and meanwhile i just want to mute the computer speakers....?
Sorry for the long winded explanation. I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to stop the act of muting my speakers from affecting the phone handset volume.

One option is to buy a set of speakers that have a pod for adjusting volume including turning the sound on/off. Here's one example (not a recommendation, but it describes the control pod that is independent of the mute on the PC. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speak ... 2&cl=gb,en I find when a phone call comes in, pressing the button on the pod to mute is faster than fiddling with the mouse to mute the PC. So you get better sound and you get MJ the way you want to run it.
