Sleep or Standby

Post by Zarjnn »

Has anybody been able to figure out a way for the computer to go into sleep or standby mode via power settings? My Vista machine is able to be manually put into standby, but it won't do it via the power settings. Is there a hack or anything out there? Its a waste of electricity to have the computer on all the time just so magic jack can work.

It's just the way MJ works. If you don't want your computer on the time try forwarding your MJ to your cell phone at night and on weekends during your free minutes. For the money you save with MJ a few dollars more a month on the electric bill is well worth the tradeoff in my opinion.

If you have Vista, you do not want to mess with the sleep mode anyway. As a matter of fact, I had to disable it completely. I cannot wake it up from the sleep mode and the only way to get out is to unplug it. Not something you want to do too often. One of the extra perks of Vista on HP machines

Off course it does( usually). If it does not you help him. I shut it down every day, sometimes twice a day.
