Hi everyone. I just found this message board.
I spent the past two weeks thinking MagicJack had banned me from their forums. I guess it wasn't just me. What a shame, that board was very informative.
I talked to a bunch of you in some MagicJack chat room a few weeks ago under a nickname I don't remember. MagicHack was there (I think he was the one who told me to look into Gizmo Project) and maybe wgnweb too (recall discussion about Joliet).
Anyways, I'm new to VOIP and looking around to see if there's any reliable provider yet. I did look into Gizmo Project and will probably be trying both it and MagicJack soon. Both seem to have their share of problems still.
I'm still unclear what is going on at MagicJack... I swear I read a list somewhere on the now closed MagicJack forum that showed (630) Naperville as soon available (I thought on November 15th?). Now the latest list I saw the other day doesn't show it. I check the MagicJack homepage to find information and it appears to be there for the purpose of not communicating.
I'm not a VOIP junkie like many here appear to be but I think more people like me are starting to look at what VOIP has to offer.
Glad you guys set up a forum where you have control. Just wanted to say hi.

Will not be on forum until after June 15th.

Welcome to the forum! I probably mentioned something about using an old sunrocket gizmo with the Gizmo Project.... I do use the gizmo project as a backup. When the magicJack is working, it's quality is far superior to any other VoIP in my opinion.Xen1969 wrote:MagicHack was there (I think he was the one who told me to look into Gizmo Project) and maybe wgnweb too (recall discussion about Joliet).

Search this forum. There are all kinds of free, or near free VoIP choices. I personally use JAJAH and like it better than Gizmo.
Nothing to download and you can use it without a computer. I also use GrandCentral and Click2Voice. Both are free right now.
Click2Voice is limited to 10-15 minutes per call, but so is Gizmo.
