Making Excuses For Bad Phone Behaviour
I've noticed something strange. If I tell people that I talk to on the phone, that I'm using MJ and I'm paying 20 bucks a year to call them long distance, it sets em off inside! Because , the first time there is a click or echo or any little blip in the audio BAM! "Did you hear that"?- "Ah no-"? " Yea, there it is again"" an echo!"" "what a cheap ass POS phone you got"-and on and on-now, if I never tell them about the phone or how little I pay to talk to them, it's fine. A little blip or echo now and then is ignored like it is with a cell phone. But if I say any word in advance about this thing and the price ;it changes everything. They instantly start listening for defects or some reason to dis the phone. I hate that. I don't like my phone being dissed. And the only reason they say anything is because of the incredible deal I'm getting compared to the huge long distance bills they pay every month. So, basically it's a type of phone discrimination going on. Well, now; unless I tell people that this is a MJ phone they can not tell anymore at all because I added the Hawking Broadband Booster to the line and the audio is near perfect. I just talked to a lady friend just now for nearly an hour and it was perfect! She knows the phone and said it was the clearest call so far, since getting it. I added the booster and then last night , because of other problems, I formatted and re-installed XP. Much nicer-and faster.

Yea, it's like when I would get a good deal on a car. The first thing people do is try to find something wrong with it just so they can not feel like you got a great deal and they didn't. So, with the price of this phone people are real fast to find fault and say they were right about it being a rip off. Not this time! The damn thing works great once it's set up right and you know it's limitations like not overloading the ram by downloading a bunch of files while yaking. I figure we are the beta testers, the trial group and by this time next year Dan's net woth should be about the same as a small nation! God I wish I had stock in this! He should offer it to us beta testers.

ha! you gotta give credit to all the haters out there, because they make it so easy for people to notice that they have a problem with themselves and need some kind of therapy, that just helps you to determin who your real friends are, when I tell my friends its an MJ for $20.00 they tell me how good the sound is and where can they get one, when they hear a burp or skip they just say "hey for 20.00 bucks who cares",well we know the haters care.
If you have haters around you they want to drag you down to their pathetic level, so stay clear from these type of people and you will live a happier life.

I laid it all out up front. I tell people I'm using MagicJack and that if they want quality, they can call me on my regular line using their own long distance. Strangely, nobody complains to me. Most people who know me also know I'm poor. They don't mind.
I like the way I once heard it. "Never try to keep up with the Jones'. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper."

Windows Vista and Laptop with XP SP2 on the road. Occasionally, a Mac if my Windows machine isn't working.
Nah-I could care less what they think. I just find it funny that people can gripe about a short blip every now and then during the conversation. Like I said, since I installed the Broadband Booster the audio has gotten real good so I'm getting alot less complaints now. Actually haven't had any since I got it! If you have dsl I'd say get one-well worth it!
There are people who think things that are more expensive are always better. While that is mostly true, it's not always the case.
Play with their minds by starting out saying you're paying a bit high for this new telephone device. The reason you're paying higher price for it because it offers portability and convenience. Wait until they fall for your trap and comment on how nice and good the quality is. Then hit them with the truth.

New Hillary Ad
"It's 3 am and the phone rings in the White House. You answer it but it goes dead because it's a Majic Jack! lol And how'd you get in the White House anyway?-This would make a great ad for MJ!-kinda picking on itself.

So, a question for you people hawking the hawking box (lol):
Have you done speed tests with and without this box? I asked an IT friend of mine about the box and he said it probably does work, but likely slows down your overall internet connection as it prioritizes your bandwidth and packets, etc.
Has anyone tried the box?
My situation is perhaps a bit unique, as I am uploading about 300-500K constantly. And although my cable internet is allegedly 10M x 1M, another VOIP provider I use with their ATA doesn't seem to have good outgoing success. The MJ does seem to function great though.
So, anyway, just curious about the hawking box, and what it seems to do for you, or if anyone has analyzed it farther than "it makes it work so much better".

It does what it says it will. I haven't "analyzed" it. No need to. I plugged it in and now my calls are clear and the computer runs alot faster. Your friemd was wrong about it slowing things down. Just the oppisite. It speeds things up by monitoring the streams of traffic and giving higher priority to certain internet traffic. It gives high priotity to traffic that is subject to jitter and latency like VOIP. It adjusts the stream to let through the high priority packets. This means that a high priority VOIP packet does not have to wait for large FTP packets to be sent before leaving the modem.-Now, most of this I got from their owners manuel but it removes the lag time and the VOIP tests I run now show a perfect score. No latency at all. The overall results are a much clearer audio signal and a faster overall pc. My downloads are faster. I have DSL. With cable I don't know what the difference would be but it makes a big difference with DSL.
