Re: Need help with magicjack configuration for the whole hou
Welcome to the forum foolproof2k001! In a similar situation, I had very good success after I ran the mJ off of a powered hub. You'll want to have a full 500mA for mJ so check the specs of the Hub to be sure.foolproof2k001 wrote:I am currently running a wyse slim client model version V90 with my magicjack installed and running perfectly nothing is wrong with the sound audio microphone......

Then the usual REN stuff; do SEARCH on this subject to benefit from the forum. I also turned down the ringers on phones where not needed.
Also, please be sure to dis-connect the house wiring from the phone company's junction box - which I am sure you already did!
Hope this is of help to you

Yes, I know that a powered hub made a difference with my set up.foolproof2k001 wrote:you think that a hub would actually make a difference ? my slim client has only the magicjack plugged in.

MJ not powerful enough to ring several phones.
Just a reply...I had the same problem of not enough juice to ring all the phones. You could try a powered USB hub if the PC doesn't have enough USB juice. If that doesn't work then try replacing your old clunky phones with new ones that have a lower ringer equivalence value (draw less current). If all else fails then plug the MJ phone output into a PBX unit (ie the Panasonic KX-series systems) or other commercial/business auto-attendant device that has it's own power supply.
