If you use the softphone, the VMail button lights up when you have messages.

Others have reported that certain phones also work with lighting up when voicemail arrives.

You can check it of course by dialing your own MagicJack phone number. Press * then your password (default 1234).

My vmail button on the display doesn't light up when there is a voicemail waiting. I'll get the email notification, and if I press the vmail button it will dial my voicemail. Is something wrong perhaps in my area? Or could it be that I have provided an email address for voicemail notifications so they don't activate the button?

Thanks for any help.

No it should light up AND send you an e-mail.

They may be working on voicemail or something maybe wait 24 hours and try again. Leave yourself a voicemail and leave it be for say 30 minutes. Still no vmail button lit up?

Well I just tested mine to try and help you out.

It appeared at first to not be working like you said. I left a voicemail and waited 10 minutes and it didn't light up. It DID just now light up after I did Menu --> Advanced users --> Restart.

So now I don't know if they're working on it or if they messed it up with an upgrade?

I still haven't received e-mail notification yet either.

I just tried the Menu, Advanced user, restart, and still no vmail light. Maybe the bulb is burned out. :)
No big deal at this time, I'm still getting email notifications.
Thanks for looking in to it for me. :D

lenagainster,

If I were you I would try to just live with it for the time being. It has been an on again off again deal for a month or two. I am talking about all aspects of the VM service. Messages, Green lights and email notification.

They are obviously working on it and it is hardly ever the same two days in a row, trying to trouble shoot it now will put you in the funny farm.
