Vista and Autoplay

Post by bwana55 »

I'm having a problem with magicJack running under Vista, several times a day the Autoplay pops up and asks permission to run. Whenever this happens magicJack is not functional. I've tried the magicJack number from my cell when the autoplay appears and it doesn't connect. I've also tried calling from the magicJack phone when this happens, I initially have a dial tone, I dial a number (my cell or my work phone) and I just get another dial tone.

Yes, I have applied the magicJack/Vista patch. Whenever I reboot my PC, disconnect / reconnect magicJack, or reset my router (or all of the above) things will be ok for a while, but within 3-4 hours the problem resurfaces and Autoplay pops up again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you fixed your problem? I'm running Vista Home Premium 64 bit and I don't get that problem. Make sure your MJ is properly seated in the USB connector. I noticed it's not that great of a fit on mine, meaning it's not real tight in the connector.
