Dan just responded to my version number post suggesting that the support person I talked to at magicjack.com could have been a bot and not a human.
I relooked at the conversation and do see multiple places where the support responses had nothing to do with the question(s) preceding them.
It is certainly possible MJ has contracted baseline support to a bot...
what is other people's opinions?
Is it real or is it a bot

This is just tongue in cheek so take it as suchJoelIrwin wrote:Dan just responded to my version number post suggesting that the support person I talked to at magicjack.com could have been a bot and not a human.

Doesn't matter if tech support is a bot or a person they are still programmed. Ive yet to talk with any tech support person on phone or in chat that isnt just a bot really.
While the above is about 90% true ive not dealt with majic jack. Realize that tech support people do tend to read from a book. Basically its a gigantic faq with what use to be common causes for common problems. Like the old try rebooting your computer doing a system restore unistall reinstall drivers etc. See back when these books were first wrote rebooting your pc do to no internet connection for example on dialup most likely would work. See they were wrote pre 2k/me/xp win 3.1 to 98 days. And well sometimes a modem would just lock up and refuse to dial out rebooting worked most all the time and most all the time it was on the customers end. Same deal for mouse keyboards sound video etc. Back then you could get irq conflicts and numerous other problems.
So again don't take this comment to mean magic jacks tech support is a bot human one or other wise but id assume that they do use a script of sorts other wise they could not provide free support.
So you got to choices pay more and just go pots line or you can go magic jack and get a little less accurate free support for a whole lot less money.
I would say what we really need is some one from magic jack to come to the forums here answer questions as well as take our fixxes for problems when we find them and add them to their common issues chat etc support scripts. Basically re write that old tech support book
