Registration Screen Is Not Popping Up

Post by la.bela.luna »

I'm running Windows Vista on a Toshiba.
I just bought a magicJack today, with great anticipation. I'm in college, and was looking forward to not having to pay a phone bill.
But there is one problem. No matter how many times I plug it in or restart my computer the registration screen will NOT pop up.
Some one help me.
Please?

Did you try a different USB port? One in the back of the PC works best.
Maybe your firewall is causing you problems.
Does it SEE the MJ at all? I assume the blue light comes on?
Is autoplay turned on? Can you try it on another PC?
Also when I installed mine over a year ago I made sure there were no programs running, other than my firewall. TURN OFF your Anti Virus if it is running. Close all open windows too. Then try plugging it in

Just a few things which come to mind..

Hey Joe :]]
I've tried every USB port on my lap top. It reads the magicJack every time, bringing me to a folder called Phone (E: ) In this folder there is another folder called magicJack. In this folder, there is a folder dubbed Update with absolutely nothing in it.

I've closed every window, restarted my computer, shut off both my firewall and my anti-virus software. None of this seems to help. :/

Thanks for the advice though! :]]

Try to manually run the autorun.inf on one of the MJ drives. Just right click on it and then run.
See if that kick starts it..
