No 212

Post by jeffnyc »

I just persuaded my friend to sign up for MJ. When he registered he said he could not get 212 area code, only 917.

Should of told your friend to check what area codes are available first before registering.

I believe they have more 212 numbers coming soon. The first batch of 212 numbers were gone very quickly.

212 Area Code Shows Available But Isn't

Post by LeavingMagicJack »

If you check their posted list of available area codes, it shows that 212 is available in one exchange only. It did this when I ordered MagicJack Pluses and when I was ready to activate. However, in the activation process, 212 is not in the pull down menu.

I, foolishly sought help and was referred to online technical support. He guaranteed me 212 later but first sign up with another area code. Then later this was not possible either, even paying $10 to change the number.

This was the purpose for getting an extra MagicJack Plus, so I could call from home to reach clients with a 212.

Noone will take responsibility for why their site is not working the way it should. Noone is taking responsibility for their lies about availability or sign up advice.

The two devices are going back for a refund and I will consider not renewing my existing devices when they come due for expiration.

Thanks for the Offer

Thanks for the offer, but this has taught me a lot about their company. This is actually deceitful advertising. The law in New York actually would allow for special damages just for this.

212 would give me a home office line, but they really spoiled it. :(
