Xlite working,But not over seas

Post by mbg19 »

So my brother lives in dominican republic and he doesnt want to use the dongle or the MJ software so i tried setting up Xlite with the credentials i got from one of the tools here,i first tried making it work here and i got incoming and outgoing working but then when i tried setting everything up over there(over teamviewer) it keeps saying "Registration error 408-Request Timeout",he does have a internet connection over wifi provider in Dom.Rep could this be causing problems?

It's a known issue, no longer is it easy to use your MJ credentials with another softphone. Read VaHam's post here http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/tryi ... t7543.html which summarizes the options. And I think Xlite with MJ credentials won't work from anywhere period, not just overseas (or in the DR). Your brother is going to have to do some work---or just use the dongle. He has to decide if aesthetics are important or the ability to make free phone calls.

Are you sure that the carrier down there isn't blocking VOIP.
