Post by jharl »

I have read somewhere that one can call into their ATA and make out going calls on say MJ line. Is this possible? if so How is it done?

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but to do it, you would need an ATA with a PSTN gateway from a regular phone line. You can't call your MJ number and dial back out, so unless you have two numbers and a gateway, I think you're stuck.

I have a Linksys/Cisco 3102 ATA with a gateway, but I don't have a regular phone line (haven't had one for 4 years now) so I won't be doing anything like that. But that's fine, I mainly use MJ for daytime outbound calls and long distance calls that aren't covered by my cell phone.

Well to start thank you for your reply. I am sure that that I was not very clear in my first post, so let me try again.

I have a dd-wrt caplable router and can put on there mjproxy or mjmd5 to have the ata (spa 1001 2 lines) and router to work together and make calls that works great.

I also have an google phone (android) and have loaded sipdroid on it. I would like to know how to access the atat from/through sipdrod (softphone) so I can make and reveive calls to my sell and apear that I am calling from the MJ number. I have this need as I setup my business on the MJ.

I hope that is more clear for everyone. thanks for the help in advance.

I did read this might me possable..

Ok, but since you can't use the same SIP settings on two devices at the same time (the second device will not register), you need to disable the ATA at home before you go out with your cell phone (unplugging it is probably the quickest way).

Then you can use sipdroid to make/receive calls using your MJ number by inserting the SIP settings from your MJ setup into the cell phone app. If it registers ok, you're all set. Don't ask me how to setup your phone app though...

A friend of mine will be introducing a software package called MJSHARE which, among other things, will allow you to share your MJ service.
Here's how it works:

You call your MJ phone number. Press ## when it answers Enter your PIN Dial your call when you hear the dialtone.
If you want to make a second call, press ## and enter the number to call.

Should be available for testing March-April 2010

send inquiries to nofax (at) usa dot com
Good Luck

Its being developed in partnership with big Dan's coders. He won't let us release it til September even though it has been ready since March. Seems like they force at least a 6 month embargo on anything related to MJ

One question. How does the 50 call limit per day affect your offering? Since others can use your MJ from their phones isnt there a good chance of the orig MJ owner being terminated for excessive ussage?? Or is that limit bypassed someway??
