Wanted: 512 MB D-RAM for Wyse WT9450xpe

Post by codenerd »

Hi all: After thorough Googling I am unable to locate the above. I have a Hynix 256MB stick in there now, but it evidently is not enough RAM for MJ to update. When MJ starts to update I get the message: "Not Enough Available Memory.", then the Wyse TC shuts down. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance

In CP/System/ Advanced put the pagefile to "MIN/MAX" 2048 on C:\, Then hit SET, Then it will have you restart. Hopefully u can get by by using a swap file istead of actual memory, But 256 is kinda on the low side. Also that memory is seriously old not worth much at all, I wouldnt be suprised if someone just gave ya some for free.

I agree. It's so old I can't find it. Thanks for the workaround, Magicfox, will give it a try.

The 9450 uses standard PC133 Non-ECC Desktop memory. It has two slots. If one is occupied by a 256 stick you can just add another one for 512 total. The VIA chipset will support up to two 512 sticks, for 1GB total, but it is very picky with them. I've never had any issues with any brand of 256. A quick search on ebay pulled up too many to list, but the least expensive BIN w/ free shipping was under $5, item #150391395708. Hope this helps.

Also, try to change the RAMDISK size to 16MB and the EWF size to 64B, commit changes and restart, 256 should take the update. Worth a try...

Alpman my TC will not accept the changes. Again I'm running 512MB flash mem with 256K RAM. When I attempt to change the C drives Virtual mem (min 0 max 2048) I get: "Drive C is too small for the maximum paging file specified. Please enter a smaller number."
Any ideas? Thanks.
