if you use fiddler2 to look for your sip login credentials

Please rephase your question. I do not understand what you are asking for. If you mean how do you get your new credentials after the "upgrade" since it is now possibly changed and encrypted, I have no idea whatsoever.
A better question would be: If you had it running on an ATA like you said you did, WHY DID YOU PLUG IT INTO USB AGAIN AT ALL AND SCREW IT UP BY LETTING IT "UPGRADE"? I sure as heck won't be plugging mine in any time soon, that's for sure.

My plugging it in and doing upgrade it doesnt really screw things up. AFAIK, there is no longer a way to access unencrypted sip data - if you use an older version it will force an update or not let u connect. It does not change the ability of the ata to work provided you have the now difficult to obtain password.
I think you might be wrong there....If you let the thing "upgrade" I think it actually changes your credentials on their servers, then encryots them on your MJ.
If I am not correct in this, please point this out.
What I mean is that if you already have your credentials and you have it working on an ATA then for goodness sake, don't plug the damned MJ into your computer and let it "upgrade." If you do, you risk your credentials being changed and then encrypted so you will no longer have easy access to them and y ou will no longer be able to run your MJ service on your ATA.

drjekyl is correct. If you have your non-encrypted SIP credentials running on an ATA, put the MJ USB device in a drawer. The last thing you want to do is make requests to the provisioning server for your SIP credentials if your ATA is working fine. At some point, MagicJack may change everyones credentials anyway, but don't go asking for trouble by hitting the provisioning server.
I am a new comer to this thread. I have been using MJ USB device for many months now, and have been getting the updates as usual. I am old Sunrocket customer that still has the AC-211-SR ATA box. My sunrocket software has been updated to 12-21-07. Is there any way to get the SIP credentials now for me? I just sumbled onto this thread, and wish I would've seen this stuff earlier. I would LOVE to use my old AC-211-SR and turn of my computer. But, since I'm a noob, I'd need a walkthrough with the new procedure (after the 12-21-07 update) as far as using Fiddler2, Cain, etc. to get the credentials and crack them. Please help!!! Please PM me with the details.

As of right now, due to the recent upgrades in magicJack, one can not run magicJack on ATAs.
SIP passwords are now up to 20 characters and are encrypted.
Yes, we do know it's at least 4 - 20 characters, and a combo of numbers & letters.
So even if you do get Cain to start trying to decrypt your password - it's going to take a long long long time.
Most likely you'll will have to order your second year of service before Cain even starts to come close to decrypting the password.
Your best bet is to have a little patience, and wait about a month or so for magicJack to allow ATAs/BYODs.

There is nothing wrong is someone wants to get little privet on a public forum. It doesn't violate anything, right?jeffnyc wrote:But this forum is not a secret... it is public on the web. I found it from a link in the dslr forum.
As you said, it should be private. Otherwise it is a killer.
