I have read on this forum where some individuals have been able to run their MJ on an ATA without running MJproxy on a router or computer, while others cannot do so without the proxy running somewhere on their LAN.
The question is: Are their specific MJ device I can purchase that will allow me to run MJ on an ATA without the MJ proxy? In other words, should I purchase the device from MagicJack directly, from specific stores or find a older device or newer device?
I brought one recently as 6 weeks ago from Walgreens . and I could not get it to workout the MJproxy running on my WRT54G-TM Router flashed with the latest DD-WRT. I'm looking to buy a second device for a friend and set it up on an ATA and forward the ATA to them in another State. That person does not have a DD-WRT-compliant Router
Any comments on this would be surely welcome.
Running MagicJack without MJproxy

Good question, I don't know the answer but I got a new MJ for Christmas and I can't connect to the server via my PAP2T w/out the MJProxy either. According to the pictures I saw on the net of the 3 different devices I have the latest version of MJ.
Your best bet is to have your friend either run MJProxy on their computer or if they can spare another $40-50 have them get a new Asus or Linksys router so you can setup the proxy.
