can i choose USA number, then switch to canadian number?

i bought MJ the other week, but cant get prepaid credit card for another few weeks... i have option of choosing usa number NOW so i can call out, and friends with long distance can call laptop, but can i EASILY switch from usa number to canadian when i get the $10.00 for canadian number through MJ.


i dont want to be stuck with usa number, most of friends and family dont have long distance on their phones, as we all talk to eachother in same canadian city.

we were told that we could switch once there was Canadian numbers available for no cost, you can change once for free but if your family members have a north American long distance calling plan they can still call you without it costing them any more than if you were just long distance.
we just told local friends to call and we would call them back
