Hidden Feature OR problem

Post by mennospeak »

MJ started doing something interesting.

In past operation, one picks up the phone, hears dialtone, dials the first number which breaks dialtone (aka you no longer hear dialtone in your earpiece), completes dialing the rests of the number, and MJ places the call and supplies ringtone until the called party answers their phone.

In current operation, dialtone remains on (aka you continue to hear dialtone) when dialing the full telephone number. MJ places the call and supplies ringtone until the called party answers their phone.

So is this a Hidden Feature or Annoying Problem? Has anyone out there in MJ land experienced this?

Yes, I experienced that too, it is certainly not a feature but I do not see it as a problem, either. I only found out that it makes sense to dial 1 before the area code if you do not dial from the soft phone.

I've notice the same thing recently. I've found that if I restart MagicJack (from the Menu->Advanced Users), the problem goes away.

Not sure why its doing that, but it doesn't seem to interfere with my ability to make calls.

It is annoying though.

Mine is not exhibiting this behavior. It breaks dial tone when dialing.
